Terracaching ANNOUNCEMENT

Post by caughtatwork » 30 November 10 8:49 pm

http://www.terracaching.com/forums/view ... hp?t=10853

If you're not a member, this is the content.
It is no secret that AngryKid has been working on recoding terracaching.com for years. Users' interest has suffered the same fate, in the face of unmet expectations to completely retool the site. In any situation like this, the evaluation must be made whether or not continue. In this case, the AngryKid's decision is that he will not continue.

Assuming that there is no other interest in taking over the terracaching.com, as of December 31st, 2010, the site will shut down. Any premium memberships still in effect at that time will be refunded for the balance of their remaining duration.

Thank you for your participation, cooperation, patience, and involvement in this community.

That being said, if there is interest in either assuming the site, or being part of a community that assumes control and development of the site, email scotto@terracaching.com. I will help facilitate that reorganization.
I don't use site, but it's sad to see them fall off the radar :-(

At the same time http://www.opencaching.com continues to evolve. (Now in brown, with back ground pic and an animation).

I'm not surprised. From the discussion on their forum the site hasn't had any coding updates for several years.
Let's see if I can retain my position as Australia's #1 Terracacher for another month! \:D/

:(

Very sad news indeed, I came to Terracaching only recently and tried to increase the cache supply by placing 3 small containers in the Sydney area (Hence damo's rating!). So if you are interested go find them before I retrieve them.

It's Gignal The Grog.

That's where we have gone wrong, we need an anthropomorphic animal as our logo.

I registered on terracaching years ago. But there was nothing happening in or near Adelaide at the time so I ignored it and eventually it dropped me. Good idea but obviously not supported by the masses.
