Can't help you out with regards to where you are, but there's a neat little shop in the Adelaide Central market that sells all sorts of packaging type stuff - ziplock bags of all sizes, plastic shopping bags in bulk, cardboard and plastic food containers etc.

If you know of a similar type of shop near you it might be worth checking it out.

Some newsagents have them and bead shops - or the bead section of Spotlight.

We got ours from the Hong Kong market (at Paddy's Market, Pooraka).

For a Canberra cacher you could try the catering supplies shop on Maryborough Street in Fyshwick. PWS I think.

I got them in Officeworks. Amazing what they have in there. Up the back with the cleaning products and the like.

I know you can get them - but I still question the utility and reliance on zip lock bags.

If the moisture gets into them, it never gets out. The caches cannot dry naturally.

Also, they are destroyed quickly with repeated use, especially if the container (although not usually a problem with micros) has an inside lip.

Just a thought,

But in some cases, they don't need to be openned. But you are right, maybe I should laminate .......hmmmmm

Go to a smoke/bong shop. Ask for deal bags. Under the counter most times

Try the hardware, stationary and craft sections of the two dollar shops, there's Homebase over at Woden near you and a couple out at Tuggeranong. I've found largish bags full of little sealable bags for a few dollars. They all tend to tear eventually but some gaffa tape tabs on the opening edges above the press seal helps to minimise damage due to impatient fingers.
See you on the trails.
