When I look at the "Where are they now?" map I get Newcastle. At first I got Port Lincoln, then somewhere else, then Sydney \:D/ and today Newcastle.

http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/gmap/3011

I see a code of 3011 there - is there a different one for each city/gnome agglomeration?

Does it have anything to do with where your own gnome is at the time?

I always get home and the surrounding area which is just perfect. But my gnome is still close to my home.

3011 is the query ID.
The start location is random.
Just zoom out and then zoom in.
It's a static query, so you can zoom all you want without hitting the DB again.

Without checking the code I think it uses the position of either the first or last cache thats in the list.
Or something random.

One thing's for sure most of us won't spend long on a DNF as we jump to the conclusion the gnome's been kid-gnapped! Could be wrong though!
:gnome  :-"
All part of the fun mate!
At least you don't have to travel 3 hours on the train (and 3 hours back) to start hunting and then come up empty because Blossom* has been there before you that's what happened on Wednesday, and it was raining.
Did it again today and guess what, Blossom* Gnabbed my first choice at Circular Quay, but it improved from there and I ended up with 3 finds, including the one I beat you to in Annandale.
 :gnome
I KNOOOOW how you feel!!!!
I can't travel via Public Transport very far Gnome hunting cos it is too far and long and too much effort!

Wanted One gnome
(in particular any of pwags  , but if its someone else's I'll ask the gnome nicely :) )

I'm going somewhere interesting today, and there will be an positive/negative photo opportunity which is gnome dependant...

Ie. pwags gnome = negative  , anyone else = positive

Any chance of a Gnome 2010/2011 pathtag? Could be used as fund raising for GCA? The min. order is around $100 USD? I'm sure we could get enough takers to cover the costs and then some.

Haha - go back through this HUGE thread (to around page 7) and you'll see that it's happening. All participants, plus a few prize-winners, will be getting one. Another benefit of being involved on GCA! =D> =D> =D>
