Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
There is a place where gnomes live in Victoria, on the road to Mt Buller.

I'm sure any gnomes looking for a home would be welcome there.

The stats make interesting reading. 7 gnomes have not moved, including mine, and the next closest is 1 that has travelled 380 metres.

Most (if not all) of those are now archived.

One of mine has probably traveled further than any of them, but still not found, hence zero kms... Metrognome!

Well, I would hope mine hasnt been archived. I certainly havent archived him. And as far as I know, he still sits exactly where I placed him.caughtatwork wrote:Most (if not all) of those are now archived.

Just to make sure, I just went to check on Benjignome. He took a bit to find, given the rampant plant growth we have had over the last couple of months, but he still awaits his fate.

I check the number on every train that I see, unfortunately I have yet to clap eyes on 401M.pwags wrote:One of mine has probably traveled further than any of them, but still not found, hence zero kms... Metrognome!
Still hope to get hold of him before the end of the game period

Yep, that was Miss Daisy. Netballer lives in hope of her poor performance making her special. As you have noticed her, I guess her hopes have been fulfilled Cheers QuilterBundyrumandcoke wrote:The stats make interesting reading. 7 gnomes have not moved, including mine, and the next closest is 1 that has travelled 380 metres.

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
i'm currently handcrafting a ...lets call it a gnome (alright, i'll call it a creature!), out of clay (Year 10 ceramics finally pays off..), and to anyone else who made their own..
..how annoying is it, to have the head fall off?
(i'd enter it into the casualty ward, but you know, the thing's been around for well..20 minutes and hasnt dried yet. Too soon! )
(P.S..i know there's only 9 days left in the comp.)

What is it going to take to get to the moon this race? We seem to have about 76,000 km to go which ssems impossible to me But then we've travelled - well, the gnomes have travelled - 308,000km which is amazing!
If just 76 gnomes got on a plane and travelled 1,000 km we would reach our goal Or 38 gnomes to go 1000km there and then 1000km back, assuming there will be 2 cachers at the destination who are willing to help move them.
So who's going on a trip in the next week and can we get this many gnomes together and get them to the airport on time? Or maybe more to the point, how much do 38 gnomes weigh? (excluding heave-ho!)
And how long would it take to log 38 gnomes as "found" and then "moved" once to get them there, twice to keep to the rules and then once again to bring them home.
CAN WE DO IT??

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
I went on a gnome gnapping mission today. I managed to grab 2 gnomes and bring them south across the border. Now we have some to play with here in the Northern Rivers. Photos to come.
Kabouter and GeGnome 4 Gnorton are currently with me and will be released into the wild again shortly. Gnorton really needs a wash as he is rather grubby. He was very hungry too when I picked him up this afternoon. He immediately devoured an apple which was bigger than him and then started on the snacks I had for my trip. When I said enough leave some for me he became quite distressed and jumped up and down on the packet... Turning my chips to crumbs which were much more suited to him in size so I let him have them. He paid me back by helping me coax Kabouter out of his hideaway and convincing him to come with us for some more adventures.
