Hi C@W many thanks. My pathtags arrived safely today. They are pretty :D AND will be ab great reminder of the fun we had moving the gnomes around. Although there were not as many up on the north coast of NSW as we would have liked. We may need to go gnapping and hold them hostage :-" so we can add to our finds figures.
Thanks =D> everyone for participating and helping the fun happen.

I assume that any gnomes I find in the wild, now that the race is finished, still wants to keep on as a movable.

I found 2 yesterday, and did look at their webpages before dropping off to see if the owner had posted anything indicating they wanted the gnome returned to them.

Yep, thanks heaps to C@W for all the work with the game, and the pathtag that arrived today. It has already joined Mrs Bundys collection.

Cheers

Sorry that your cache didn't move
One of the traumas of living a long way away from other cachers I suppose.

Its not a problem C@W.
Bundyrumandcoke wrote:I hope there is a prize for gnomes that dont move at all throughout the race, as I happened to get off work a bit early, so in spite of my previous post saying I would not participate, I changed my mind. Benjignome is currently sitting, bum in the air, waiting for a gnome full of construction adhesive to set inside him, before he heads out into the wilderness. And a wilderness it will be. He may well be the northernmost gnome out there, and I would guess he will be lucky to move at all.

That was my prediction back on 1 December. As it turns out, I wish I could predict the lotto numbers with such finesse.

As the game progressed, and Benjignome didnt move, it actually became my peverse hope that he wouldnt move. The agony was that on the last day or so, someone would actually come along and pick him up. I can lay one claim to fame from the game, uniquely the only gnome not to move through the entire game.

So now the interesting thing is, how long will it take for someone to actually move him.

Cheers
Bundy

I thought about ol' Benji gnome but it was a 600km drive (one way). Only Black Bunny would be mad enough to do that.

I drove and picked up an FTF over 1000kms from home. Admittedly I was already planning to drive there for a holiday at the time anyway.

Where were you driving from? Certainly not Wollongong! What direct flights are there to Gladstone from anywhere?

Well, last year I went for an FTF, that was about 3000km away from home, Gladstone to the bottom of Tassie, took a week and a bit to get there, plus a 3/4 hr flight in a light aircraft to got to within walking distance of GZ (well the alternative was a 5-7 day walk in- one way.)
The cache had sat for almost a year unfound, only to have FTF go about 3 weeks before my arrival. In fact, I was the second finder that day.
Given all that, its is still by far my most favorite cache find ever.

Oh, by the way, its Melaleuca, http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_de ... y&decrypt= only 4 finds in Feb/March last year, and none since then.

I will admit, this also was on holidays, and on the way to the Mega Event.

I was up in QLD on holidays and hunted some gnomes on the way home. No way the family would of given me enough leave to find Benji. Shame though as there will be some kudos when he finally departs.

The funny thing was, there were quite a number of visiting cachers who posted found logs on caches of mine in Gladstone during the game period. But he remained unloved and unfound.

Mind you, I will admit there are a number of GCA caches in Gladstone that I have as yet not found.

Um...I think I might have missed something in this thread....do we need to pm C@W our mailing details for the gnome tags? Not that it matters to much, the gnomes were reward enough, so much fun!
