Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
Found a "gnome", obviously I must have been halucinating, as he had transformed into a crocodile, yes, you heard me correct, and crocodile labeled a gnome...

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
The sad part is, since the start of this race, I have had to archive 2 of my local regular gnome caches. One lost to a massive construction excavation, the other one lost to muggle vandalism.

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
Just wondering, is there a prize for the person who found the most amount of Gnomes?
If so, who and HOW would that be calculated?
Would that person have to go through each participants logs and count them individually (like we have to)?
Or...is there some filter that person can use?
Just curious?

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
OK, i'm a bit confused here after moving a bunch of gnomes. Looking at the link for one of them
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2925
I found it, moved it, then pjmpjm found it. The moved distance is showing up against their found log rather than my moved log even though the coords are the same.

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
When a log has the same co-ords as a previous log, the previous log distance is ignored. So it will only turn up on the latest log (I think).
Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
Are you home yet? Can we bombard you with questions? My question is that my gnome has gone MIA and I was going to archive it. (well yes, I know that's not a question. It's more by way of an introduction ) But will that make it disappear from the game? If so, I thought it might be best if I wait until the game is over? (It's pretty obvious to everyone it's gone from the logs)caughtatwork wrote:When a log has the same co-ords as a previous log, the previous log distance is ignored. Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
I can't believe how many have gone missing. Can't understand why unless muggles are spotting people placing them and grabbing them. Still that can't explain the one I hid in the bush in northern Sydney (Mr Bump http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2887). Must go and check.
Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
Apologies for the 4 gnomes I'm currently holding, our family has been quarantined by the Dr since I picked them up
Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
Quarantine is a good reason, don;t worry about that!
I know what happened to my gnome. He was put into a tree but the branches weren't very strong and it was a windy night. I am almost sure he fell and shattered and was probably swept up by the gardeners next day His log was found under the tree, probably came out in the shattering experience

So far at least 2 of the 666th Gnome Gnarmy have deserted or are MIA.

Sad to see so many disappearing, it will be interesting to find out how many of the little fellows did not make it!

He might be there. I just couldn't find him but Yurt says he'll go and look to make sure.bubbles_baby123 wrote:aww, mr bump goes to sydney, and he dissapears?
