54th state

Interesting things you find in gc.com. Following the following links and you will see that South Australia is in order the 54th state of the USA. The US states are listed 2 to 51 alphabetatically. The A states start from 52. Not sure about the randomness of the 1st state.

Isn't Australia becoming the 51st State?

The District of Columbia is not a State therefore isn't normally counted...this would explain the 51 "states"

state_id doesn't mean states of USA it is just the next level down under country_id.

state_id=100 represents 'Coimbra' in Portugal.

BTW Alabama is state_id=60. I wonder who made the mistake of not including them in the first 50.
