can't believe no one's mentioned the old NASA vs the Russians joke.
NASA Spent $X-millions on designing a pen that would write in space.
The Russians used a pencil..... \:D/

I own 3 caching pens
a Red Gel pen for wet logs (this is terrible for waterproof paper!)
a Red Ballpoint pen for most uses
and a Red Mon Ami Plus Pen 3000 for nanos, it has an incredibly tiny tip and is perfect for tiny spaces (full logs and nanos) I found it in a Japanese Shop in Civic, Canberra, Bought two!
I also found this review for it!
and they are here on Ebay (Though this link may not last long!)

And the pencil leaves small dust-sized particles of graphite that float around in the cabin and get into delicate electronics.

I have the small bullet space pen - http://www.spacepen.com/matteblackbullet.aspx

Love it

"fit for purpose" is my motto  Anything else in a pen is just a waste IMO. YMMV 8)

Since the last thread on pen's we've always kept 3-4 power tanks in the car and they are religiously used for caching, and note taking whilst we are out.

They are great pens, and never had an issue not being able to write on something, apart from when the ink ran out on the first one.

The saw dust smell from the grips is a different aroma to a pen as well (not that pens usually have aroma's!)

I found my power tank today. In one of the pockets of my cache bag. A black pen, imposable to find in the bag (almost). Going to take it with me for some cache runs as my main pen. Might tie a piece of fluro string onto it. Looking forward to see how it goes.
