iPhone - Tom-Tom or Sygic????????

Post by THENANKS » 21 February 10 4:46 pm

Hi everyone, I'm after comments about the top two navigation apps available for the iPhone 3gs. :-k There seems to be a debate raging on the App Store regarding the success or lack there of, of both of these. I want it for car navigation, not geocaching! I'd love to hear what people who have used one or both of these apps have to say. Your advice is appreciated! Cheers, Mrs THENANKS

That has become my preferred way of operating as well.

I have to admit I LOVE Image geosphere after seeing you recommend it here. I prefer it to the geocaching app.

Only two responses and both are off topic. #-o
I'll just highlight the relevant part of the original post:

I haven't used either Tom-Tom or Sygic but am tempted to get the Tom Tom app (doubles as a hand-warming app as well I have read due to the demand on the iPhone cpu!)
I feel that $100 is a lot overpriced though when my last Nokia had turn by turn navigation included!

Navigon seems to be a third program available.

Thanks to all who have responded so far. I am still undecided but may now be leaning towards TomTom for the long term benefits with upgrades. More comments and thought will definitely still be read with interest. The debate is not over! :-k

a few folks on the geosphere forum like navicon with geosphere using google maps for turn by turn nav.... don't know much about it since I'm using geosphere on a iPod touch but it works by the sounds of it....... hope this isn't off topic 8-[

I just use the iPhone maps app that comes with the thing..... it works well enough still prefer the street directory after my TomTom ended up in the back of a drawer for years because I got sick of it especially the fact that it always said my 40 year old house doesn't exist
