=D> =D> =D>
With the start of the new caching year, it's time to celebrate the best of the best for 2009 \:D/ . As with years gone by we will hold a ballot and then get together to celebrate the winners and share some stories. The categories and rules are the same as before and details are below.

We are hoping to get lots of nominations and votes as well as lots of attendees at the event, you do not need to be an ACT cacher to nominate, vote or attend the event, so get you thinking caps on and lets celebrate.

The categories are:
1. Best Cache
2. Best Location
3. Most Original Cache
4. Best Photo
5. Best First Cache Hide

The rules are:

CATEGORIES 1 & 2
1 - Cache must have been laid during 2009.
2 - At least five cachers must have found it.
3 - It can be a traditional, multi or mystery. No virtuals or locationless.
4 - A cacher cannot nominate or vote for their own cache

CATEGORY 3
1 - Have a unique feature (ie container, location, name etc), cachers must list why they are nominating for this category to assist voters.
2 - Cache must have been laid during 2009.
3 - At least five cachers must have found it.
4 - It can be a traditional, multi or mystery. No virtuals or locationless
5 - A cacher cannot nominate or vote for their own cache

CATEGORY 4
Geocachers can submit their best picture (that they took during 2009) and their fellow cachers will decide. It can be an interstate or overseas location, but it must be an ACT geocacher, and they must identify which cache it was taken at.

CATEGORIES 5
1 - Cache must have been laid during 2009.
2 - Cacher who has placed the cache must not have previously placed a cache.
3 - It can be a traditional, multi or mystery. No virtuals or locationless.
4 - A cacher cannot nominate or vote for their own cache

Nominations are now open and will close at 6pm on March 3, 2010. Please ensure that you include the GC Code with your nomination to allow easy identification of the cache.

We will then collate the nominees and voting will open on March 4, 2010 and close at 6pm on March 25, 2010

Nominations can be posted at http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopi ... 10&t=13833 and once nominations are closed we will post the list of caches and an address that votes can be sent to.

We are looking for volunteers to hold an event / Game for the wawrds presentation so if anyone would like to hold an event please feel free to let us know and start arranging

Can one of the moderators for this forum OR one of the site admin people please LOCK this forum, WITH A NOTE TO ADD NOMINATIONS to the ACT forum on the same subject.

This Announcement has appeared in THREE different forums, General Chit-chat, Announcements and ACT Forum. That's all fine for the purpose of announcing, but ALL replies & nominations should be on the ACT FORUM only, otherwise we will get replies in 3 different threads making it hopeless for the S's to collate everything.

There is already one reply in the Announcements thread.

Thanks.
