Google Wave

Post by Mr Emu » 24 November 09 9:28 pm

\:D/ I received my invite to try out Google Wave today. Woo-hoo... well, sort of... I don't have anyone to "wave" with :-k
I guess these things take a little time to get off the ground, so with that in mind I thought I'd mention part of the first "wave" I received:
Invite others to Google Wave

Google Wave is more fun when you have others to wave with, so please nominate people you would like to add. Keep in mind that this is a preview so it could be a bit rocky at times.

Invitations will not be sent immediately. We have a lot of stamps to lick.
I've sent invites to some family members and friends, but according to the last sentence I wouldn't expect their accounts to be live for a little while yet. However in order to accelerate the spread of Google Wave, I thought I'd offer my limited remaining invites to those of you normally forward-thinking, bleeding-edge, trend-setters that didn't sign up for the waiting list before it closed.

There are no obligations to communicate with me, but if you have heard about Google Wave, are someone who communicates with a lot of people, and you don't mind if this doesn't happen straight away, I'd be happy oblige. :-"

The only other caveat is as follows:
If you do not have a Google account, you will be prompted to create one

My account is CraigRat@googlewave.com if you ever get bored, although I don't check it too much (It is VERY beta right now)

Thanks for the hints. Hmm, mixed results.

Just having a little wave with CraigRat. Interesting.

So what will it be used for? I can see it used for collaborating on a document or presentation or possibly running an interactive meeting.
Not much info there unless you want to watch the 1 hour 20 minute video!

Even when you watch the video it is confusing!

I can't see it being the 'Email Killer' that it is being touted as, but it could be a great tool for collaborative projects.

I think the real strength of it will be with the add-ons as they get developed.
As it stands right now it is just a toy.

Started my account finally. Found the thread, and now am at a loss of what to do.

Ah well, I'm sure more is to come! \:D/

Have got an account, but like Craig Rat haven't done much at all with it yet.

Still waiting to see what all the geek hype is about =D>
