Re: What's your Radius?
We have only found 15 caches so far but our closest to home is about 2km away and the only one in my town....the next ones are all about 30minutes away by car.
We haven't really set a KM radius as we have done some while traveling and are happy on the weekends to go out for a drive for the whole day....I guess we usually stay within 2 to 3 hours of home max.
So far our furthest away has been 4hours away in Newcastle when we where on a trip.

I certainly am, trees arent really my thing. And I'm yet to succeed in convincing Little Buds to retrieve itchatmanais wrote:Dont tell me that you're referring to "All strung out"? I had fun placing that one Kudos to MtBikeroz for adopting my canberra caches. My caching karma would be massive compared to what it is now without my canberra hides *sad face*Bewilderbeest wrote: my third nearest is only 3.7km away but at 8m up a tree is well out of my reach!
Ive been planting more than ive found just recently, trying to encourage others up here to do the same so i can find more closer to home

Re: What's your Radius?
Team Cassie, the radius is something you can look up in your stats on the site - it tells you how many caches there are within a certain area from your home coords. (and I only figured that out recently)
Re: What's your Radius?
In the rural parts of NSW cache density isn't as great..... But here are my current stats and radius. I guess 1/3 unfound in 50km radius isn't too shabby.
Hope to clear that 10km radius tomorrow and also the 22km. But some may be gnomes which I have to leave till someone else moves them first. If I find them it will also be the last day to cross off the cached on every day of the month grid as I have not cached on the 26th of any month so far. A good thing to aim for on Australia Day.
Within 10 km radius
There are 33 caches (3 unfound: 9.09%)
Within 20 km radius
There are 50 caches (4 unfound: 8%)
Within 30 km radius
There are 90 caches (17 unfound: 18.89%)

There are 144 caches (48 unfound: 33.33%)

Hahaha - oh dear its rather amusing after sharing similar experiences wandering the hills around Cairns. "Did i mention the spiderwebs?" hahaha But seriously those spiders sitting in their webs can go and get @$#%ed as far as im concernedDamo. wrote:I'll look forward to your log on this one then! http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0603Renroc wrote:In the rural parts of NSW cache density isn't as great..... I does not look like much fun at all but perhaps if I can't find any others to do I may think about it.... maybe......but perhaps my knees won't be up for that sort of hike.... How steep is it The topo didn't look too extreme but the undergrowth and wildlife would cancel that one out I guess.
I cache for fun not extreme experiences.
Re: What's your Radius?
12 months ago I had my cleared radius out to 40km, and gave myself the goal of having it to 50km by the end of 2010. Sadly 2010 saw me being busier than ever before and more caches being hidden than ever. Swimming against the tide is just impossible!
I've currently got my radius out to 25km, with 9 remaining unfound within 30km and a further 50 within 40km. I hold some hope of once again working to get my radius back to 40km.
Anyway, I digress. Inspired by a cache series that I found online in the US, I have just had the following published:
5km Radius Challenge http://coord.info/GC2M8MV
10km Radius Challenge http://coord.info/GC2M8N3
20km Radius Challenge http://coord.info/GC2M8N9
I'm hoping to be able to clear out, and then hide, a 30km Radius Challenge in a couple of weeks.
Edit: fix link.

According to this http://geocaching.com.au/cacher/Hoojar/ ... s_downhill you won't be making a 50km one anytime soon...Hoojar wrote:12 months ago I had my cleared radius out to 40km, and gave myself the goal of having it to 50km by the end of 2010. Anyway, my radius is currently 8km but if you exclude ciril's caches I only have two unfound with in 30km (one of which is a C4 puzzle I may never solve...)

Re: What's your Radius?
Since I'm currently living in Serbia, I've got 26 unfound in the country. 19 within 50km, but 2 of those are currently unavailable.
