And a quick check of their profile reveals they've been at it again today - and their logs are slightly longer but also slightly more insulting
Seriously, what is to be gained from this? Must have a pretty boring life getting your kicks logging random caches one after the other.

The only good thing that we can rely on is that The Ump wont publish any caches if he tries that trick!

.
Yay! I've been hit. I was feeling a little left out there....
Took some pleasure in the deletion.
You almost got to admire their tenacity though - I'd have given up ages ago! Well over 200 logs I would think by now, although only 108 now showing.

Don't forget to purge their logs from your GSAK database too.
Database -> Purge Logs ...
Then Purge by User Id: 2813184
I'd hate to be looking for a cache, check the few last logs I keep in my HTML dump to find the only help as "Easy TFTC".
Cheers
P.S Noticed they are now down to 85 logs.

Re: Bogus Logs (dog108 is logging caches without finding them)
there is a cacher/cachers in this area that like to make false logs ! we just ignore them
Re: Bogus Logs (dog108 is logging caches without finding them)
OK, just sent a pile of pm's out to local geocachers I know, asking for them to check and delete their logs from dog108. Lets see if we can get them below 50 by the end of the week?

Down to 66 after a few emails.
Also got a reply from Groundspeak so my email is into their system with a medium priority.
See what happens.

Re: Bogus Logs (dog108 is logging caches without finding them)
I wonder if Dog108 is going to try and post some logs for WA?
I cant wait till they do so I can enjoy deleting their logs with great satisfaction and with vengence

Re: Bogus Logs (dog108 is logging caches without finding them)
I wonder if this person will start to log fake geocaches.

Here's the reply back from Groundspeak:
"Hi,
I understand you frustration but it is the responsibility of the cache owner to remove any logs that they do not believe are valid. Please feel free to contact the cache owner and let them know, in a friendly way, what is going on. I am sure they would appreciate the heads up.
Happy caching!
Best Regards,
Jessica

Oh well, Groundspeak don't care about blocking idiots messing with their system so we'll stick with plan A, letting people know and just deleting the logs.

Re: Bogus Logs (dog108 is logging caches without finding them)
It makes me wish there was a verification code to enter to log a cache...like TB's and other trackables. Only people who've found the container and retreived the code from the logbook can log a find.
Maybe one day this could be offered as an option to cache owners, complimentary to premium member only caches?

Or had the code provided to them in an email or from a photo, etc.J_&_J wrote:IOnly people who've found the container and retreived the code from the logbook can log a find.
There is nothing that can stop this sort of idiocy and when the site owners won't help either, it's very frustrating
Small rant. Groundspeak say they don't get involved in arbitration of caches / logs / etc and won't delete obvious bogus logs but when they like they archive a cache because they think the owner is lying about it being there and being maintained. Complete and utter hypocrisy.
