GID or Reflective Powder - Where to buy?
I have an idea for a cache and it involves preferably reflective powder but if need be it could be glow in the dark powder.
I have seen comments on other forums about the products but to date have been unable to find an Aussie online reseller that looked legit. Does anyone have a preferred supplier?

Cheesy Pigs were talking about this yesterday. Send them a PM and ask where they get it.

A bit more searching has found this. I really like the reflective paint. I may have to duck in to the local paint shop tomorrow...

i mix mine with epoxy resin and have used it on a couple of cache containers, it seemed to hold up quite well

you can also buy luminous paint from model shops, but its not as bright. When mixing the powder add it to the mixed epoxy until it just wont take any more.

The reflective paint and glow in the dark powder appears to be available at the big hardware stores, I will try to get some and report back.

Re: GID or Reflective Powder - Where to buy?
OK, I managed to buy some of this paint at my local Bunnings.
The White Knight reflect-all costs $24 for a 340gm pressure pack!
I also bought a pressure pack of plasti-cote glow in the dark, 284gm for $20! It also comes with a long list of harmful side effects!!
The reflective paint is brilliant, and has quiet an effect in the dark when you shine a torch at it, it shines back a bright silver colour.
The overspray that got onto my path looks like snow in torch light!
I tried it on the top of some drawing pins and although not as good as the GC pins, it is very close in reflective power, not sure how long it would last in the 'wild' though. It would be good for using in a night cache if you had a series of poles, etc to spray it on, although you would be a technical graffitist if you used it that way, I suppose.
The glow in the dark will only work if you can get direct sunlight onto it during the day. I tried it on some carport poles in indirect light and it didn't work.
All in all, I think they will have some interesting uses. Now all I need to do is get the old grey matter ticking over and find some interesting ways to use them...
