Hi,

RRP = $639 though no-one should ever buy for this price :D

It seems (by the picture anyway) the compass only shows basic info eg cardinal point directions

Looks like you need an extra clip on GPS cover or something?
As with all these combi things, they usually lack the power and features of a dedicated device. No way the GPS is going to have all the features of a good Garmin or Magellan, and of course digital compasses are still not as good as a proper magnetic one.

On the other hand if Garmin or Magellan bought out a GPS that had a phone add-on, THAT would be worth getting!

Yep. If you lost it you could phone it up and it would tell you where it was. :)

Even the push to talk feature (PTT) on the phone sounds interesting.

It's a Nokia. It'll say something like:

Calculating your position...please wait
Calculating your position...please wait
Calculating your position...please wait
You are: NOT IN FINLAND

Just had a look at the 5140 whilst Telstra shop whilst setting up another 30 Sim's for work use.

Rubbery looking thing, and they had zilch info on the GPS cover.
They suspect it may not be released into Aust, as they couldnt source any info.

Thats not to say it wont happen though, as it is so new it may not be fully in their database yet.
