where is the cache
They "found" it in the big "ball of wool" thing. Sticks his arm in there, pulls the cache out and places it back again. Whether this is the
REAL hiding spot or not i'm not sure, but if it is i'm sure it will go missing soon.
as others have confirmed, it is the real hiding spot. While I didn't spot it from the car, I did have to duck my head down a bit to see the cache stuck up on the top of the ball. The mag is a bit weak for the weight of the key holder but that probably won't be the issue now. I'd say if it goes missing, leave it for a week or 3 and by then most people will forget about the news segment... Will be interesting to see if this becomes Newcastle's most replaced cache. What takes that prize now? - does anyone know??
Clear skies and, TFthisCache.

Great. Just what we need.
More cachers hiding micros around Newcastle.
Mix and I did find one good cache during Easter break.

Personally, I found that rather embarrassing. Seriously, I hope that was a majorly beatup piece, nobody actually searches like that do they?
next time instead of people whooping it up that they found it, we can get em dancing and singing "Whoops, we found it"
Sad.

No, but that's the first time I have seen geocaching in the media that makes us look like complete tools LOL.

I have to say I kinda agree with Webguy... not exactly subtle hunting!
Bit of a shame the cache was shown in full view... although no reported muggling as yet...

I drove past the cache yesterday and the container was placed halfway down the ball and very easy to see from the road, but was still there.
I don't know the cache owners but I suspect it was them in the news clip based on the behaviour they have reported in many of their found logs.

Oh, what a surprise, it's been muggled.

I also note the owners only have 19 finds. Makes me wonder how on earth NBN got in touch with them... or did they go to NBN?

Now, because I am a cynic, I have to wonder, will this mean that the person who "borrowed" the cache, now go looking for others??

No, but they were wearing dark sunnies.
