There's a couple of links to some sites with html tutorials.

For "color" text you use:
eg

But I can do HTML in my description on my cache pages,

Im referring to my "found " logs, on caches I find. I notice its rather common in Oz.

GC doesn't allow html - but does use bbcode - just Google bbcode.

I agree, though I'm not sure exactly which meaning of "common" you are using here:
having no special distinction or quality?
of or associated with the great masses of people?
of low or inferior quality or value?
lacking refinement or cultivation or taste?

That's the 1st one I've ever seen (the again I don't read the logs on the GC site, just thru email updates and here)
