There were a few vocal anti-GCA Brisbanites who flew the "separatists are going to ruin the game" flag when GCA started listing caches. They have colluded with the Melbournians to shun hiders of GCA caches and those who seek them.
I think it's an Australia-wide thing.

Consider yourself lucky and try to get the FTF on all of them
There are over 5,000 TrigPoints listed across the country and they've only been up for a week or two.
People will find them over time.
I think the others have answered a, b or c.

A cache is a cache is a cache, and a virtual is a virtual anywhere it's listed. Looking forward to finding many more trigs points and listing them on both WM.com and GC.com.au.
Thank you for giving me another option.

Hey c@w, I have noticed that some trig point flags on the maps are covering cache flags. I can see some cache owners would not be happy with this situation. Would it be possible to change the TP flag, perhaps turn it upside down, to prevent this?
Cheers,
dazza.

Depending on your zoom level, yes I'd noticed this.
Not sure I can make something like that happen as the icons are all a standard size.
I'll have a look, but no promises on this one.

Well I knocked off two suburban trig points this morning. One at Clematis, the other in Lysterfield Park.
8 years of caching for 1 x FTF
1 day of trig pointing for 2 x FTF.
This could be my thing !

If I've visited a trigpoint before it was published, is it fair game for FTF?
I discovered one last year on the way to another cache, but I guess that's out of the question. Anyone could make a similar claim, predating geocaching even.
On the other hand, I discovered another one a couple of weeks ago. Now knowing about this trigpointing stuff, I took a photo & saved a waypoint with intent to log the find. It hadn't been published at the time. Although I could've added it myself, I didn't and it was published a week later (from a database, not another finder). Surely that's a legit FTF.

If you have a photo of you at any trigpoint from the past, feel free to log a find.
If you log it with your original find date, please edit the cache and set the hidden date o the same date.
If you log it today, that's fine too.
e.g.
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/tp1486
I claimed this one as I took a photo of everything 4 or so year ago and so made my find date the original date and backdated the cache listing.

Thanks C@W.
Another thing, I notice that trigpoints don't show up on the Cache Hitlists.

This thread has become quite huge now.
Can anyone sum up the objectives and rules associated with these caches?
If I have missed a similar response it is only because it is amongst the many that are here.

Objective: Find a trigpoint (trigonometrical station). Get out and about to areas you may not have been before (especially in rural areas where there are few caches but potentially many trig points). Get to the top of hills and appreciate the country around you
Rules: Get to the trigpoint, take a picture of you / your GPS. Log a find. Attach your picture. If the trigpoint is just inside a boundary fence, take a picture from outside the fence. If the trigpoint is on private property and move than (say) 50m from a public accessible area, archive the cache. Archive the cache by placing an Archived log and a reason for it being archived.
That's pretty much it. Like any other virtual, proof of your being at the location is a photo of you or your GPS and the trigpoint / marker.

Rule #3 - enjoy the walk and views.
