Edjumacate me on blogs?

Post by Bundyrumandcoke » 05 March 09 3:40 pm

Mrs Bundy and I are off on our big caching trip in 2 weeks time. By pure chance, a teacher in the US made contact with me regarding recieving a couple of TB's to release in Oz, as part of a geography project for his class. He didnt know about the trip, but it has worked out well for the kids.
We are taking laptop with mobile broadband, and video and still cameras with us on the trip, and intend logging our finds each night of the trip. We will also be carrying a TB belonging to the kids, which will visit all the caches we find (basically recording an record and itinery of our trip)

So, whats the best way of getting daily trip info, pics, video, ect, up on the net. I've never used a blog before, would this be the best way to do it? If so, any recommendations for hosting it. (Please make it simple for a dummy like me, I dont want to be spending hours each night wading through crap to do this, it needs to be enjoyable, not a chore)

Cheers
Bundy

Thanks Webguy, that one looks interesting. I have sent an application away.

If approved, I will link it to this site.

Cheers

Expedition Australia looks like a good site.

I've been using blogger while travelling the last 6 months and have found it quite easy to use. It's also customisable with various 'widgits' and layouts you can add. I have a non standard google map header on my blog with my travels marked on it.
Also gives you and easy to remember url eg www.damianandsarah.blogspot.com
and if you already have a openid account somewhere like google/gmail/youtube you can use the same username and password.
