Annual ACT Cache Awards - 2008

<p> With the start of the new caching year, it's time to celebrate the best of the best for 2008. As with years gone by we will hold a ballot and then get together to celebrate the winners and share some stories. The categories and rules are the same as before and details are below.</p>
<p>We are hoping to get lots of nominations and votes as well as lots of attendees at the event, you do not need to be an ACT cacher to nominate, vote or attend the event, so get you thinking caps on and lets celebrate.</p>
<p>The categories are:
<br>1. Best Cache
<br>2. Best Location
<br>3. Most Original Cache
<br>4. Best Photo
<br>5. Best First Cache Hide</p>

The rules are:</p>
<p>CATEGORIES 1 & 2
<br>1 - Cache must have been laid during 2008.
<br>2 - At least five cachers must have found it.
<br>3 - It can be a traditional, multi or mystery. No virtuals or locationless.
<br>4 - A cacher cannot nominate or vote for their own cache</p>
<p>CATEGORY 3
<br>1 - Have a unique feature (ie container, location, name etc), cachers must list why they are nominating for this category to assist voters.
<br>2 - Cache must have been laid during 2008.
<br>3 - At least five cachers must have found it.
<br>4 - It can be a traditional, multi or mystery. No virtuals or locationless.
<br>5 - A cacher cannot nominate or vote for their own cache</p>
<p>CATEGORY 4 <br>
Geocachers can submit their best picture (that they took during 2008) and their fellow cachers will decide. It can be an interstate or overseas location, but it must be an ACT geocacher, and they must identify which cache it was taken at.</p>
<p>CATEGORIES 5
<br>1 - Cache must have been laid during 2008.
<br>2 - Cacher who has placed the cache must not have previously placed a cache.
<br>3 - It can be a traditional, multi or mystery. No virtuals or locationless.
<br>4 - A cacher cannot nominate or vote for their own cache</p>
<p>Nominations are now open and will close at 6pm on February 20, 2009.

We will then collate the nominees and voting will open on February 23, 2009 and close at 6pm on March 13, 2009.</p>
<p>Nominations can be posted on the ACT Forum http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=11626 and once nominations are closed we will post the list of caches and an address that votes can be sent to.</p>

<p>If possible we will need some assistance in setting up the game so if anyone is able to help please feel free to contact us.</p>
