The Riverina Geocaching Committee has much pleasure in announcing the official name of the mega event for 2010.

The official name is.........Oz Mega Wagga Wagga.

The Committee decided to keep it simple.

All felt the OZ...tells all which country its in.....the Mega, what type of event it is ....and Wagga Wagga ,which city is host .

The name has been well under way for awhile and will feature in everything from signage, merchandise, logo's,geocoins and many other highlights to this much anticipated event.

I just posted a reply over at http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index. ... try3899959 but thought I would cross-post over here just for good measure.

We would like to be considered as a strong "maybe" Geo-Dad is in the army and may be out of county in a years time.

Team Vegemitetoast consists of 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 geo-dog. We would like to camp on-site in our campertrailer.

My 2010 work projected holiday block availablilty has just been released and the 2010 projected roster plan has also just been released. There is a 98% chance that we will be able to make this event. Will be able to confirm by the end of August 2009 but will start looking for a place to stay. Will make a Geocaching holiday around this. Not going to drive direct as it is a good 16 hours driving from home to Waqgga via Dubbo. Will most likely come via Goondiwindi.

1 week to get there one week in Wagga Wagga then and take a nice 2 week drive home. :D :D :D

The official listing will probaly be around during June or close to it. The Committee has a few more parts to implement yet into the huge logistical exercise.

We know some teams are very keen, but just bear with us for a bit longer, as remember this exciting event is being organised for a 4 day holiday period. :D

The tally has reached 575 individuals this week and continues to rise.

The Committee can tell you that the whole Campground has been mapped and co-ordinates for the camping spot is set.

Weather temperatures in Wagga Wagga this year on the same 4 days saw these details :
April 2 - Min' 16 to Max 31
April 3 - Min' 15 to Max 30
April 4 - Min' 14 to Max 24
April 5 - Min' 14 to Max 22
This will give all attendees some indication of the typical conditions of early April. :D
Keep the positive entries rolling in.

At this stage looks like i'll be there by myself and probably camping. Happy to transport people if they require a lift and help with transport costs

A note for those who can't organise a lift, from Sydney at least you can travel by XPT for just over $70 each way at 6 hours, or Greyhound coaches have fares as low as $35 on special at around 8 hours. And I am sure with prior arrangements someone can pick you up and take you to the venue.

I am not sure what my travel will be yet, might well be down there early or late, will be spending a few days one side or the other for getting some of the other caches around there.
