Tuena will be there, solo, and would be camping in either the swag or tent depending on the weather.

At this stage I'll say 2 adults for team alex, camping.

Can you also keep me in the loop for potential sponsorship opportunities. alex@cartographics.com.au Cheers

La Kedi will be there, along with The Marble from QLD. We'll be camping, we hope :)

Would love to come - just 1 person in a tent at the camp thanks! Sounds brilliant!

The original Facebook event has also been updated too now.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event ... 8757393148

You can add your interest to that event also if you wish.

Thanks for the question.
No, the Oz Mega Wagga Wagga hasn't been published yet.
The Committee is hard at work placing all the logistics and infastructure calculations into place at present.
So, the event should be listed within the next 2 months.

You will see it listed at the top of the "NSW page" on Geocaching.com.
Plus C@W is going to try to place the event at the top of every "state page" at Geocaching Australia.
It will also feature in the weekly notification emails.

Thanks for the enquiry, it won't be too much longer.

Greg
President
Riverina Geocaching Committee.

BTW, it'll be published as just an event and, once Groundspeak can see that there's likely to be enough attendees (by "will attend" logs), they'll change the status to Mega and it'll start showing up on the weekly mailouts for everyone, not just those in NSW.

Given the massive support so far, I don't think getting that status quickly will be a problem!

I'll have to do some serious arm twisting to get permission to attend, This could cost me dearly.

Regards
John

Sorry cant help it but have a chuckle. <br>
In SA we are organising a June event in the Yorke Peninsular in a litte country town called Maitland.<br>
We already have around 150 people (50+teams) attending and it's still climbing.<br> If in SA we can get this many to a sleepy town what's going to happen at a national event?<br>
<br>
 Manical laugh of an organiser 3 days out from an event. :D

Hope it went well after all the effort.

We had the privilege of attending the UK First Mega Event last year. They didn't quite make the 1,000 attendance but had over 900 folks there. It was a one day event and we saw how knackered the committee were by the end of it. The secret is probably lots of well briefed and organised volunteers. Delegate, delegate, delegate.[/quote]

The Maitland event was brilliant and well organised.

thanks. Astro.

Thanks for the question Team Astro. :)
The committee has had in place for a few months a "Code of Conduct'.
This code includes many details that covers all areas of the Kurrajong Reserve
including pets, noise, hygiene, geocaching whilst in Wagga Wagga and general camping rules.
Point 3 from the Hygiene section reads -
3/ Smoking is banned in the two halls and all other buildings.

So, hopefully, this will explain that anywhere else is ok. It is a 15 acre reserve. 8)
We saw the SA event went off well too. Well done. It looks like it was fun.
We check out all events in Australia and all Mega Events around the world.
Haven't got any ghosts in trees planned, but you never know what will happen by Easter 2010. :)

Cheers.
Greg.
