Access to forums in Geocaching.com

Post by Tuena » 16 September 08 9:31 pm

I am finding it impossible to gain access to geocaching.com forums. I'm trying to logon but get rejected as either name or logon unknown. Clicking the register link is no help as it just brings me back to the logon screen & the same round-a-bout business starts over again.

I accessed the Help screen but it only gives info of a very general nature with no explanation as to why my Geo name & password are not accepted in the forums.

Does anyone know how to register?

Thanks

Tuena

I just logged on using my new laptop. so no cookies yet, and it let me on OK.

Make sure you're typing the password with the right capitals?

If all else fails, email contact@geocaching.com with your problem to see what they can do for you.

Why would you want to go onto the GC forums when the GCA is much more informative and civilized.

I find the GC forums are all full of the same repetitive whinging about micros, nanos, numbers, people not playing by the "rules" that 'I' have set for the game...blah blah blah

Ahhh, but its good fun to wander in there and correct their spelling- especially aluminium, every now and then.

Yes, and even a dedicated Australia category!

But the only people who ever post there are Americans who are coming to Australia wondering if there are any cachers down here :P

I posted this for you: We'll see what happens.
Hi Guys,
A member of the the Geocaching Australia forums has reported that the registration link for cachers wanting to join these forums does not work. I agree, if I log out and select the registration link I just go to the same welcome page.

1. If you run other browsers on your system try and see if it happen there as well.
I tried Firefox and IE, and I'm not the only user.

2. Review forum topics and see if someone else has posted something similar.
Yep, can't see it.

3. Create or add to an already existing topic.
Here we are

4. Post the following information for the issue:
Your Operating System: Windows XP,
Your Browser with Version number: IE 6.0, Firefox 3.01.

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong and I'll pass it on.

Thanks.

Mal.
