With the Garmin receivers you can add some Shonky maps for the outback stuff, also using macro's you can have all the cache info on screen

So I would be able to upload shonky maps to it as I have done with my 60csx?

But they are not routable are they?
So with these my wife will not be able to follow it and find me out in the bush?

Have I got it right?
Thanks

Thats correct but if you buy one of the Nuvi range you can use the City Navigator Auto routeable maps to navigate and switch over to Shonkymaps when the bitumen / road stops

Thats cheap but I don't think it comes with the USB cable , you won't need another one if you got one for the 60Csx don't forget to add postage.

This guy in Bellevue. WA is selling it for $239 and I think it comes with a 1 gb SD card with Topo maps , not sure which one

http://www.octapc.com.au/prod190.htm

He also has a GPS forum

http://www.gpsaustralia.net

for an extra $60 you can buy the Nuvi 260 which has Text-to-speech feature

I believe you can run OziCe on the NavmanS80 also on the Mio530 which is meant to be the same as the Hema Navigator.

But I don't know how good these are without OziCe to find the caches.

And I have heard some bad reports on the hema not having as good Auto routing software as the Garmin Mapsource City Navigator.

So does anyone know with the Nuvi255, when it arrives it has City Nav NT maps, but do I need a microSD card to add POIs or does it leave a couple of MB spare in the internal memory for POIs before needing a card? The specs say it has 0mb internal memory and to use the MicroSD cards... maybe I can delete an unwanted voice and free up internal memory that way?

I think the 255 needs the microSD and the 255W needs the SD card
