Well he has organised one 'event' in the past - Thirroul by the sea08 but it's a far cry from even a meagre main event :?

5 to the first and 3 to the second.
I'm all for someone "else" organising such an event (I have other stuff to do), so if you think you can do it, then do it. See how many people arrive, learn lessons, understand difficulties and then try again. It might take a few times, but learning is part of the experience.

Is there a minimum legal age for organizers of major events?

I agree. I looked up paegle boy's profile and owned caches on GC.com and hadn't realised he was so young.

I'm in my late 20s and have attended several caching events, and even I'm too scared to attempt a large-ish event of my own, let alone a mega event. I simply don't have the experience, time, contacts or organisational skills. And I like to think of myself as pretty organised.

The logistics of a young teenager organising such an event would be impossible without a LOT of adult backup support. Issues such as insurance etc would be a no go. I couldn't imagine trying to organise something like this without a drivers license.

Maybe a wiki on running events would be a good thing? Experienced organizers could contribute guidelines for people who want to hold an event. :?:

I say "Go for it".

(I don't think there are enough cachers in Oz to be able to do it. But hey, prove me, and all the the other non believers in this thread, wrong!)
