I've used JB Weld (especially good for magnets) but I'm always gluing to the base which does not flex.

If it's not going to get wet Liquid Nails is a cheap and easy solution

I've found for those type of fixings that surface prep is the most important point, the adhesive needs to key into the host. Drill some small holes the hot glue or silicone can force throu giving an optimum grip.
