ahhhhhhhhh well I understand those who say Kaysh, but to me a SOUTH AUSSIE, its cash and cashing!! Then again the "ache...cake"....well ....the mind boggles to have your cache and eat it too?????????

You can't claim it's regional, since we grew up in the same small town and I say "kayshing"!
BTW, when are you going to correct the spelling of this thread's title?

I realise there is little point in flogging this very dead horse, but I've just spent an idle few minutes re-reading this whole thread and these points seem to stand out to me:
1. The "cash" pronunciation is often referred to as "American", but it is just as much "English" - ask any geocacher in England how they pronounce cache.
2. The "kaysh" pronunciation seems to have arisen when it was applied to computer storage - why, I don't know.
I guess the first geocachers in Oz were computer geeks, so . . .
