I don't like to see cats stressed out either but you have to admit they get themselves in some crazy predicaments.
Like the time we locked our cat in the safe for three days. While it was open, the little bugger snook inside while we weren't looking and burrowed toward the back. After two days of frantic looking we finally heard a feint meow. Still took us ages to figure out where she was, and yep, you guessed it, the stupid cat still tries to burrow inside the safe whenever we open it.

If the original poster has specifically requested its removal, why would you defy him by rejecting his request? Whether a moderator should unilaterally remove a post is a whole different subject, but that isn't the case here.
