Sharing an Information Sign for a Multicache

Post by Aushiker » 24 May 13 12:47 pm

Hi

I am considering the development of a multicache which is based on the use of information signs (creating a walk). However, one of the three signs is used in another multicache and and one is very close to a sign used in the other multicache. The other sign is more than 528 metres away and the final cache location is in a different direction and some kilometres away.

Is there an issue with using the same signs in geocache.com caches?

Thanks
Andre

As long as there are no physcial containers on the signs (for either cache) and they are listed as question to answer (for both caches) you should be right.

No technical problem, as these are all "Question to Answer" type waypoints, which don't get considered in cache saturation checks.

Do bear in mind that cachers have already been taken here and shown this information, though, and make sure that you're adding something new to experience.

I would also suggest that the start sign is not the same (or too close). The reason being that the coordinates would then plot over each other on the map, and a cacher is likely to turn up, do the multi, leave and then later realise there was another cache there to be had.

I've had that problem with moveables that have been placed 10-20 metres apart, or where a GC and GCA cache have ended up very close.

Good point. I will give the placement so more thought.

Thanks to everyone for your answers.
