Waymarking
Waymarking
anyone know what www.waymarking.com is? are they instead of virtuals now ?
Re: Waymarking
Waymarking seems to be when you post the lat and long of interesting features (well some people do interesting features) Others do things like every subway shop in the world etc...
I have a few waymarks. A couple are at Greenwich in UK and involve standard markers for length. Or the 24hour clock there or the Bradley Meridian. I also have one in the river height marker category.
People can make their own waymarks and then post them for others to find.
To the best of my knowledge/understanding they are not replacing virtuals but another thing you can find. Totally different from Geocaches.

Re: Waymarking
The waymarking site was created by Groundspeak when they decided that they would only list geocaches that had a physical box to find. All locationless caches were then archived and virtuals no longer permitted to be listed on geocaching.com (except for earth caches which are virtuals with an Additional Logging Requirement )
This was about 5 years ago so nothing new there!
