There's no y in train either, but I bet you don't call it a tran :-)

We've had it wrong all this time!

It's ka-ch-E.

Ka-ch-E-ng!

Sorry to be a semi-pendant and devil's advocate, but if you're going to go with that analogy, it's better to argue that "There's no y in 'save', but I bet you don't call it a 'sav' "

Couldn't care less about the pronunciation personally, as even before Geocaching, the cayshe, cash thing was in dispute all over the world!

But referring to Americans as "Septics" is offensive.
As is calling an (American) Southerner a "yank."

My understanding is that Aussies only call Sepos that because they find it offensive!

I understand that to be true, but it's interesting that it is "acceptable" to call an American a "septic" "seppo", but not to call a Chinese person a "gook" "chink" etc ETC ETC ETC ETC.
Weird hypocrisy.

When I think of an offensive term for Aussies, I'll use it... wonder how it will be taken...
Besides "skip" or "skippy" ... because to be "skippy" means "damn great!" It's also a brand of peanut butter.
