Cacheing in Los Angeles

Post by hungrybear » 28 June 17 2:41 pm

I am going to visit Los Angeles in August, I would like to pick up a couple of caches over there. My question is day or night, is it safe to wander about in the Manhattan beach area?.

I haven't been there but a quick google suggests its an upmarket area with lots of caches and none of them mention difficulties. There are usually lots of virtuals in the US and when we were in urban locations that we were uncomfortable searching for physical caches for whatever reason - we opted for the virtuals. I guess there are risks everywhere so always be vigilant.

I would contact 3 of the local cache owners asking them about this. You then have 3 local knowledge responses that you can then base your decisions off.

Not sure how new or old you are to this, but just in case...
if you search for caches in the Los Angeles area on geocaching.com you can click on the cache owner/creator's name to open their profile and from there you can send them a message.
