Overseas caches -Not in english-A way to translate?
Hi all, i am going overseas this year and want to grab a few caches along the way.
I have done a quick search in GC.com, but am having trouble as there are a lot of Caches that aren't written in English.
I will be pre-loading my Garmin 62s & I use GSAK, So I can do the paperless caching with past logs etc.
I just don't want to be limited by quick pick up caches. Is there a way to translate a cache and download the past logs & Description in English?

I use this for logs from overseas cachers, it seems to work pretty well.

Re: Overseas caches -Not in english-A way to translate?
yeah but does Google translate change the GPX file data??
Re: Overseas caches -Not in english-A way to translate?
Hmmm...Google translate does not let me stay logged in to GC.com on the translated page so even if it DOES effect the .gpx files i can't download it.
I have one start point in Paris then on to Belgium and then on to Greece....but other than that there is no itinerary and limiting internet access.
That'll mean I am going to have to go through Google translate for every cache, that I may or may not come across. That's a lot of cut n pasting to GSAK.
anyone have any other suggestions or a solution?

Wow- Thanks for your help. Already learning the language-maybe is should have put that down. I guess the forum wasn't going to be as much help as I thought.

I'm unaware of any nice way to translate,
The only think I can think of is to print out cache pages translated thru Google Translate
Running a translator over the GPX file might end up with the tags in the file getting translated and break the GPX file.

Do you use GSAK?
If so translate the page and save it as a note. Then export to your favourite paperless device and off you go!
Either that or you could just go out and find the cache an not read the cache page like 50% of people!

Geez, sorry for having a sense of humour...RRRCT wrote:Wow- Thanks for your help. Already learning the language-maybe is should have put that down. I guess the forum wasn't going to be as much help as I thought.
This solution is, at least, a bit easier than translating the whole page at a time: http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtop ... ntry101923

I used Google Translate in France with success.
