Caching in New Zealand (North Island)

Post by dcr » 30 July 04 8:58 pm

Gidday Guys,
we are off the the North Island for a fortnight in September.
What are the cache recommendations from the locals (or other visitors) ?
We will have a 7yo and 4yo with us so this may clip the wings for the more extreme caches.

cheers Darren :)

Lots and lots to choose from, but GC931D The Huka Falls near Lake Taupo is a good spot. Although a bit off the beaten track the footbridge at Arapuni Power GC5A82 is worth a visit.

Hi Darren
Have you an itinerary sorted out . I am reasonably familar with Northland, Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Wellington Areas and a few along the highways in the middle.

For an idea of the concentrations, take a look at the mapat:

Hi Darren

I will post your Itinarary on the Kiwi forum, if that is OK, and see what people suggest. But first one more question.

What means of transport? Hire car?
