Trimble Geocache Navigator - Now free for Nokia phones

Trimbled today once again at Port Macquarie. A nasty nano. Had a friend visiting from Coffs Harbour so hadn't been planning on caching so I hadn't looked at the hints.

We grabbed some fish and chips and headed to the headland to eat. Fired up the Foretrex and found a cache 50 metres away. With no idea what I was looking for came up blank, fired up Trimble and then knew it was a nano and where to look, and had it in hand very quickly. Very useful backup if you phone includes a small amount of data use (and work hasn't pulled me up on it yet).

DAmn! all mine does is searching for location..... for a long time...from what you guys are saying, I almost feel that I should return the device, but as the Trimble is not a supported application, there would be no grounds for that...Thanks Damo for your input, I shall keep trying and let you know if I have any joy.

trimble is a bit hit and miss, i usually use it to check recent logs in case a cache has been disabled or archived.

We tried caching with it once and couldn't find the cache, then found out that it was a particularly nasty hide and the phone had put us right on top of it.

Not free any more. It was time to find an offline alternative anyway, the best caches don't always have mobile reception, and I need the GCA caches as well.

Unless they have changed something:

Run the navigator software on your phone. Select "Settings" > Show my ID
Enter the code supplied as your phone identifier.

Didn't work, was trying everything i could think of in the end it was 1234. Weather this was entered when i first loaded the free for nokia version or it is a defult number i dont know but hey it works.

I used to use it on the E61 when in the USA.
So many bloody caches I needed something that found the caches wherever I happened to be, not where I thought I would be.
Then I had to rebuild the phone and it wasn't free no more..
however it looks like it might be free...
