I just signed up for Virgin Broadband - $60/month for phone "line", all local and STD calls and 4GB/month all in one. Works via the Optus phone network so d/l speed is only about 500k tops but still a lot better than paying connection fees for everything when I might be moving. Unluckily signal strength is a little low here, maybe I should try the same thing behind it! Just have to identify my local Optus tower where I should point it.
Only available in capital city areas at the moment where Optus have rolled out 3G, but certainly a good option if you are likely to move around a bit.

Who
"John Smith" (not his "real" name) is a very scary hero
in a number of Tom Clancy novels. .... A bit like Jason Bourne, but not quite as "nice" when ridding the world of bad guys. "Bad" at the best of times, the revenge that he took on those that killed his girlfriend was particularly nasty
.... worth learning to read to catch up on those scenes

Well we saw this beasty in action and it was... well quite surprising to see just how well it worked. It took a scratchy 1 to 2 bar signal up to a good solid 4 bars.

About 2 bars better off
It'd work even better i.e. more gain if it was parabolic in shape and the rx'er was located at the focal point. Do you have another paranoids microwave blocker that you could adjust?
