l have a palm treo 650 which l havent used in awhile and reading through some of the post here l see that there are some Linux users. l dont use the treo 650 cause l dont like the OS and was thinking can linux be put on this or will l just have to keep using it as a paper weight ?.

There's rumours circulating about the next PalmOS version being based on Linux, but nothing at the moment to 'reflash' an existing PalmOS machine.

l just sent email to Adelaide Linux club asking if l came down would anyone there be able to help.There is a local linux group but if you are a new user there not really that interested in helping you so l will travel to beyond the black stump if l have to. Well if l cant get linux on it then a paper weight it shall stay.

There are heaps of usergroups online.

A guru mate of mine has about three or four IRC windows operating at once watching discussions and changes.

Plenty of information on line but I'm not in those circles. I'm a tester for the new Kubuntu's and thats about my Linux knowledge.

Have a look around the web before crunching heaps of K's. Let your keyboard do your walking.

What is your dislike with the OS? If it's just the appearance you can get "skins" for it.

theres nothing wrong with palm os, its just me l cant leave things alone. if it came out with linux you can bet that l would try and put something else on it.

Well one would think that l would learn by now to leave things alone. l have stuff up afew computers including my wifes laptop by over clocking them. This is one of the reason why l like linux cause you can get in and root around with it.
