Then I turned off the bittorrents...

ADSL2+ connection with OnTheNet. Seems about right on a 24000/1000 connection. The modem reports ~7000 kb/s connection.
Sydney was the closest server

:D 3rd fastest Upload

Windows XP with IInet ADSL+2 on the northern outskirts of Sydney
After all of this bad weather we had a few issues with our phone line and the end result was we had to end up getting a new junction box fitted to the house,

since then the Internet speeds have made a big jump.

This one is with Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite turned off

The ping is quicker but nothing else is really different,

I don't know why the upload speed is down 'perhaps congestion?'

But it sure shows what happens when you clean up the wires where they connect to the house,

Not bad from home considering I used to be on a 128k ISDN service but now ADSL (allegedly the fastest I'll get due to distance)
