I am playing with nvu now but cannot save as anything or publish, it tells me I am not logged in.

How about the free edition of 1st Page. Here> http://www.evrsoft.com/

I used it awhile ago and seemed to do all the basic stuff.

Good luck. :)

Hmmm, Checked this out a bit more. 1st page is not a WYSIWIG builder it's a HTML editor. So might not be what you are looking for. :(

I did say it was a while ago that I used it.

I couldn't get the publish section of NVU to run either so I use filezilla to upload. Other than that it's excellent.

Hmmmm - The XP problem. :?

I suggest Format it and install Kubuntu.

Frontpage should be able to connect directly to your website provided you have the frontpage extensions installed on your server.

Yes it can or it could until last night, all office apps have stopped working and I wanted to update my web page with having to go through all of the hassle of fixing office which could mean a rebuild.

But seriously I use Nvu for all my web design and last year I even had students using it to develop their own pages. It's basic and a great little editor. Would be good if a 1.5 or 2.0 came out though. A few dicky thing in it.
