NZ maps -OziExplorer Compatible

Post by Aushiker » 23 January 07 6:30 pm

Hi

We are looking at heading over to NZ later in the year. Hence I am looking around for OziExplorer compatible street level maps.

I have checked http://forums.gps.org.nz but my preliminary searches were not too fruitful.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

Regards
Andrew

I'm in the same boat (April for us)

I have contemplated getting these maps:
http://www.clearwatertarn.co.nz/New_Zea ... 176_1.html

I dont know how good they are though...

$30NZ...whats that? about 40 cents Australian or something?

These might be worth a look, but are not cheap:

<br>It's worth a read. I have tried to make some of my own maps using maprequest and it worked.<br><br>
I could've done with the above info before heading to NZ for xmas last year.

Not streetlevel (towns) hence the cheap price.

Don't appear to be OziExplorer compatible.

Hi

Found this on the NZ forums - http://forums.gps.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=2735 - some options listed here including http://www.pcpages.com/graemewi/ which appears to be able to be converted to OziExplorer.

I recieved the HEMA Topo maps on friday
1:350000 scale  , but good for the touring part of things (tourist stuff is hightlighted).

I have made some good street level maps using maprequest for Auckland, New Plymouth and a few other spots I am going too...all very good.

I hadn't played with maprequest before...I'm SUPER happy with the results!
