PDA Phone - What to get
Hi All,
I'm sick of carrying an IPAQ and a mobile phone on my belt all the time.
What do you guys recommend for a combined PDA/Phone/camera device (that isn't too bulky or expensive)?
Regards
Ian

Not a recommendation per se but while looking recently for Mrs Muggle I saw an O2 "executive" that would meet all your needs except the "not too expensive" requirement. DSE $1029 with keyboard and bluetooth ear phone included. The (small) overall size was impressive - not much bigger that a non folding mobile phone.ian-and-penny wrote:What do you guys recommend for a combined PDA/Phone/camera device (that isn't too bulky or expensive)?

I recently got an I-mate Jamin, my first foray into PDA's. It's done well so far, runs Tomtom nicely, makes good use of the free wi-fi hotspots and seems to be coming in useful for all sorts of stuff.
The processor's a little slow but for most things it doesn't matter, and the battery life is pretty good as a result. It set me back about $850.

agree - the iMate is a very steady platform and does run TomTom VERY well. A lot of people I know have these and are very happy. Telstra Shops have these for $780 this week. Poor Wibble
clear skies, Astro.

We have tried the Imate K-jam (POS dont bother). and have now settled on some imate Jamins for our daily work stuff. they run cache proggies very well, as someone said, processor can sometimes be a bit slow and they do require an occasional reset (no big deal).
The Jasjam is nice but to big in my eyes, like holding a novel to your head!
We also have tried the Ipaqs, and have settled on the Imates for now.
We are rolling out an automated workforce this year all our techs have imates and all paperwork/billing/client signatures etc is done on the imate and GPRS'd back to the office back end.
