Daylight saving on eXplorist 600

Post by pprass » 08 November 06 9:49 am

Has anyone had any success in setting up the Daylight Saving function on the 600? I activated it using the "Customize" option in the Clock screen. However every time I powered up the GPS 2 messages would come up asking me if I wanted to disable Daylight Savings! After percervering for a week or so I relented and said YES!!!
Also I found that the GPS was going into a restart loop when I powered it up. Doesn't do that any more.

Come and live in Queensland - we don't have to worry about things like that...
Our illustrious leaders have decided we don't want daylight saving -gives us cancer or something :?

Was living in QLD when the referendum was done - couldn't believe some of the anti-DLS propaganda e.g the "extra" hour of daylight would:
fade the curtains
confuse the cows at milking time
a government plot to get rid of old people because they would live an extra hour a day, they would die sooner!
No wonder the answer to the question of the time difference between QLD and NSW was "1 hour and ten years"

Get it right... I believe they said it would;
  • Fade the cows
Put the curtains off their milk

Sheesh

Just an observation from here in the West so I don't know what it's like in Qld, but reading forums and 'Letters to the editor' etc., the only people I see ever mentioning curtains and cows are PRO daylight saving. :?

I got it to work last year but this year i just gave up and turned the function off, even though you program in the dates it still acts as if your in the USA.

mmmmmmmmmaybe next update they might get it right?

I had the 'same issue' with my MeriColor this year??? (why this year only?)

Err I presssed the enter buttons way to fast and accidently turned off DST.

So I had a hell of a time resetting DST again .. customized it to start on Nov 3 or something strange... ( does it really matter?) now it works flwalessly :?:

strangest thing?

.. a mate of mine(MeriColor owner too, had the same problem too) ..

re-seting it again(the second time) seems to have cured the weirdness?
(ie. I've not been asked to turn off DST again)
