Top Gear's potential cachemobile review

Post by rhinogeo » 20 September 06 5:41 pm

If you missed last Monday's episode of Top Gear, they reviewed some great potential cachemobiles

The Qpod certainly would allow you to arrive at caches in style :)

Yes but the Bentley that they took to the middle East for testing is much quicker   and just a tad more stylish 8) 8)

I always wanted a hovercraft, but I was drooling for the entire segment....

Fantastic! One of those (two seater as well) and a skeleton key to open those pesky locked gates across "management vehicle only" tracks and we would be off. :D Wonder what the fuel economy is like?

Does anyone know how far behind the UK we are with Top Gear episodes?

About 13 months behind

As far as I can tell (courtesy of the Qpod website), last Monday's episode was originally screened in the UK on 31 July 2005

That sucks!!! Top Gear is the only show I actually look forward to watching each week!

I'll take one of the buggies though, good for getting those FTF's :)

That's so true - but what I was meaning (and should have been clearer) was I wonder how far a tank of fuel would take you. No use in getting to a far flung cache and then find that you need to call someone for extra fuel!

The show that airs next monday is the last of Season 6, which went to air on the 7th of August 2005 - so rhinogeo was pretty well spot on.

HTML based epsiode list here, other more comprehensive episodes guides can be found here at the excellent Final Gear Forums.

Season 9 returns to UK screens on October 8th, or at least was meant to before Richard Hammond's accident, no news yet as to if it'll keep this schedule.

For those who follow the show you might be interested that Richard Hammond was critically injured in a car accident while filming for the show just today. Search google for the news stories - there are plenty around including details of his current condition - which is good.

My apologies... I thought I was following the thread but had obviously missed that bit.
