Gpx Sonar :!: it even exports ozi waypoint files 8)Failing this(which is hard) just export html files from gsak & open with your pda browser.
Never thought I would say this but Gpx sonar is really cool

I agree, GPXsonar if you have a pocket pc. You can't go past it.

I really hate doing 'Me too' posts but I'd also suggest you use GPXSonar

Free and just works.... lists caches, lets you log/timestamp them and gives you a report when you are ready to log them online....

Simple&Effective...the essence of good software...

Me too :D , I am using GPXSonar on a 1710.
Although, I will also add that if you only want to view the cache details, not make field notes etc, then using GSAK to export HTML files to your 1710 works well. I find HTML is quicker than GPXSonar for viewing on the 1710. <p>
Doesn't get me to the FTF's any quicker though :? . . . . .

I have given up using GPXSonar and only use the HTML download from GSAK. That was until I dropped my 1710 on the pavement in Melbourne last week. The screen looks kind of funny now. Looks like a 1900 series is in order now.

<p>Don't suppose you know of a 12v lead for a 1710 going cheap ?

The only option you have for car chargers is to get the HP one from places like Office Works, Harvey Norman or Harris Technology in Perth. I haven't seen any cheep ones on the net.

They may help with the cases as well. Anthing that is hard and does not flex will protect from scratches, etc but you will need to have a proper protector if you are looking for water protection.

Sorry, didn't use one. 240 charge was sufficient to keep me going.

Admittedly, it's not freeware, but Cachemate on the PALM is the best $8 USD I've spent on geocaching, and there is a version of Cachemate for the Pocket PC available <font color=blue>here</font color> and it's only $8 USD too :D

Re the car chargers, you can buy an "iGo" universal car charger/adaptor from DSE Powerhouse for $29.95. You can then choose which "tip" you want to suit your device. The first tip is free and then they cost about $10 each after that. The HP one suits 1700 series, 1900 series and 2100 series. They work very well and if you damage the connection you only have to buy another tip. Worked for me. :D

I have a car ciggy lighter fitting that you plug the USB cable into, you could look for one of those (mine came with a blueant earpiece.) That is of course if your PPC came with USB cable (not just a cradle) and has USB charging option.
