Cables from gps to palm

To go from my legend to my T3, now, it supplies power to the T3, but not the etrex, How hard would it be to modify it to also power the gps?
@$25 it's a lot cheaper than buying a bluetooth GPS, and, it powers the Palm. Although, I have an adaptor that will power the palm via USB cable already. any suggestions?
