Question for TomTom users

Post by VWNuts » 13 June 06 9:30 pm

I'm currently using TomTom version 5.210 on my pocket pc, and so far i've been able to export caches from GSAK across as POI's, but is it possible to add co-ords when using TomTom?
I know you can add a GPS position from where you are, but I was hoping there was a way to add a new Co-ord (like a cache) and go to that.

Question I have Tomtom vers 4.7.1.0 and I have been trying to run it with my Palm M130 PDA. it all loads but when I fire up the palm it says Error system version 5 or greater required to run this application. Is this referring to Tomtom or my Palm?.. any help appreciated..

Your PalmOS version, I'm afraid. You need a Zire71 or Tungsten T or later to get OS5+

The poor little M130 would probably have trouble keeping up anyway! It'd have a route calculated at about the time you were arriving at your destination! :)

It does look useful, which is why I'd like a Palm equivalent!

I've occasionally used my Magellan to enter a set of coords, find the rough address on the Meridian's map, then enter _that_ address into TomTom on the Palm to get the driving directions. A bit convoluted, and I'd much rather just type the coords into TomTom direct...

I played around with it last night and it works great...like it says though you can only enter one set of co-ords, when you do the next set it overwrites the previous ones. But it is quick and easy.

A Palm version would be good, anyone want to port gpsbabel? Or I could set up web based one that might do the trick for web enabled PDAs?

Why dont you Palm People email the developer and ask him, his name is Barry Davis and he has an email link on the link I posted earlier

In my admittedly limited experience, Palm and PPC development is so wildly different that porting something is a fairly serious undertaking. Can't hurt to ask though, I guess.
