Is anyone been able to register GSAK 6.X under vi$ta?

I keep geting a:

Code: Select all

Access violation at address 0045D4DD in module 'gsak.exe'. Read of address 000002CC.
If anyone knows a good linux alternative that can run with a usb to serial converter I'd like to know about it also.

I'd be lucky to use 10% of what the 6.x has + GSAK is not supported by my preferred OS so for the foreseeable future I'll stick with 6.x.

<P>One of the reasons why I bought a Dell not a Mac last upgrade. <P>It seems that Macs are not too highly thought of by Garmin, and anyone else involved with Geocaching...

Ok thanks for the answer !mike.

I had no trouble registering it on my old win98 machine.

I may try the GSAK forums and see if anyone is still interested in the older versions.

I have looked to see what the difference is (between the latest and what I am using) and don't think that there is much point in me upgrading at the moment.

The latest version 6 download does everything that I need.

I have tried to find this myself but with 45 pages it got difficult to keep going.

Is it possible to upload a find file from GSAK into GC? I can do it into GCA and it will update all my finds on that website, but I can't find a way to make it work on GC, is it even possible?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's possible (or even necessary since GC doesn't list your GCA finds) :?

You can however write your logs in GSAK in the log section then click the button to log them on GC

That was what I wanted, can I only do that one at a time? The GCA ref was because I can do a whole upload at once. I was wondering if I have to go to each GC cache and upload separately.

There is a GSAK Macro that allows you to log all of your flagged caches onre at a time. It copies your GSAK log to the clipboard, brings up the cache page allowing you to past directly into the page etc etc.

Have a look in the macros section of the GSAK forum

Here's mine:

# Filter list to display user flagged caches
MFILTER IF=$d_UserFlag

# Log the found caches online
IF $_FilterCount > 0
SORT By="FoundByMe;UserSort"
GOTO Position=Top
WHILE NOT ($_EOL)
CLIP Tags="%UserLog"
$url = "http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?ID=%gcid"
WEB Url=$url
PAUSE Msg="Was log successfully entered?"
PURGENOTE Type=LogOnly Range=Current
GOTO Position=Next
ENDWHILE
ELSE
PAUSE Msg="No found caches in filter! Clearing and exiting."
ENDIF
