Hi

This link poped up in GPS Australia. Interesting if not expensive mounts. See http://www.cycoactive.com/gps/gps_mounts.html

Regards
Andrew

Some cost almost as much as the GPS itself.

The best mount for my car I have bought was a mobile phone holder only $12 at Super Cheap Auto. Some of the older models open wide enough to hold a GPSr nice and snug.

I don't recommend that with the etrex's - it stretches the rubber surrounds.

cheap mounts

I have an etrex.
I got a $13 mobile phone holder ("type-S" brand) from K-mart which cradles it nicely, looks fine and either clips into a vent and also comes with double sided tape and another bracket to permanantly mount on the dash.

For the treadly I got a $24 RAVX mobile phone holder http://www.ravx.com/pages/Saddlebags/VertX.html from a bike shop (Hadleys in Newcastle) which fits the etrex perfectly (although upside down, but you mount it backwards, so it's all good). Must be for a chunky, big old mobile though!. It clips on and off the handle bar bracket easily enough, has a belt clip and has elastic sides so you can easily use the buttons on the GPS with the cover on.

cheers,
ratsac

Wow, they are expensive.

After going through the process this morning of trying to find replacement dash mount gear, I thought I'd add to the topic for future shoppers.

http://www.expansys.com.au have a large range of mounts, more for PDA users, but still worth checking through for Garmin users.
