Useless but kind of interesting little WP Plotter from C@W
Not sure what forum to put this in, so as it's software but not GCA specific I chose this one.
On occasion I like to see where I've cached before. I can do that quite easily with Ozi, etc, but if I wanted to put a picture up on my website that shows where Ive found caches, then I would have to make a new picture each time I find new caches.
I also like to stickybeak at where others may have cached. It serves no really useful purpose, I just find it kind of interesting.
So, I came up with this idea.
This solution is directed at people who want to display an image of where they have cached in near real time (well, probably a day late at the best).
This is not a final solution, so please don't call it directly to your site just yet. It's highly likely that the final name will change so it will end up with a broken image.
You can play with it here:
http://www.caughtatwork.net/geocaching/wpplotter/
Please note that due to certain constraints (beyond my control), you MUST supply the cacher name with the correct case.
ie. caughtatwork will work. CaughtAtWork will NOT work and will indicate you should check the caching name.
Enter your own caching name and see if it works for you.
Have fun and please tell me whether you can see any immediate improvements. Note that I probably won't increase the size of the images any more, so that will be the final level of granularity (artefacts included).

BWHAHAHAHA!
Sorry, I didn't know you'd already done something like this otherwise I would have stolen, um, asked nicely for your code
Looks like brillant minds think alike.
What is this density thing you speak of?
Keep in mind that I don't have access to everything.
Normally I don't have access to lat/long co-ords. I kind of work around that with this solution in a little bit of a sleazy way (but I'm sure the owners won't mind).

Hmm... our world map is here. (Link rather than image to avoid stressing C@W's bandwidth)
The NSW, SA, WA and NZ conglomerations make sense, as do the few in Arizona. The blip in Tassie is a moveable cache in some traffic, so that's OK.
However, there's a persistent blip off the coast of Africa that's a bit puzzling, and some others in the mid-ocean that seem to come and go.
Any thoughts on what they could be?
