ETrex windows desktop software?

Post by ToolkiT » 02 October 03 12:55 pm

Hi all,

I bought a data cable for my eTrex on eBay, while waiting for it I was wondering if there is software simular to the Palm desktop.

I would love to be able to enter and view waypoint and tracks on my PC...

There are quite a few programs around for this (shareware and commercial), but I use Garmins Mapsource to log canyoning and walking trails etc.
I haven't got into the whole "scan in and scale map, plot waypoints, plot route, download to GPS etc", I like to wing it a tad...

Got the cable and tried Easy GPS, works like a charm :)
Got every cache in a 25Km radius from my house in my eTrex now, syncing sure beats entering it by hand!

How many waypoints is that???
My poor eTrex can only handle 500 and the 25Km range was allready 170 WPs...

I'll put some more in them soon, but didnt have the time yet...

Actually could you email me an export of those WPs? saves me spending an hour on GC.com downloading them...
